Jenny E. Ross is an award-winning wildlife and conservation photographer. She is a Senior Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographer (which I didn't even know existed until I started working on this project) and a part of the Society of Environmental Journalists. She has numerous awards -- the Nature's Best Award for Wildlife Photography; the Philip Hyde Award for Environmental Photography -- and has been featured in publications (one obvious example being NatGeo) and galleries. Former President Bill Clinton even has some of her prints. She was a lawyer, but was inspired more by photography and the wilds. Never too late to switch careers!
I am bringing up her life story because it really hurts to see someone else live your dream. I have always wanted to protect land and animals (sorry, people) ever since I was a child. Finding out the ILCP is a thing was a game changer for sure.
I appreciate any photographer who uses their art to spread the word, for instance, her current project is about life on thin ice due to climate change. Ms Ross is definitely a role model and an influence for me, and the answer to the question, "where do you see yourself in x years?"
(Steve Winter is an honorable mention since I follow the man on Instagram. He photographs big kitties.)
